Where Your Donations Go

Join Us!

There are two main ways to get involved with Extra Hands. You can volunteer to join the Extra Hands program in your area, or you can volunteer to help us grow. No matter how you want to join the fight against ALS, we're excited to meet you! Scroll down for sign-up instructions.

You can join the Extra Hands program if you are:

  • A student and would like to help an ALS family with household tasks

  • An adult who would like to be a Mentor to student volunteers

  • An adult who would like to help ALS families with periodic projects
When you sign up online, or print and mail your application, the Extra Hands Program Manager in your area will review your application and contact you. All volunteers must attend a training session, read the Extra Hands Policy Prohibiting Misconduct, and turn in a signed Liability Waiver. Depending on what you indicate you want to do as an Extra Hands volunteer, we will do our best to accommodate your interests and schedule.

However you would like to be involved in the fight against ALS, we are eager to work with you. Most activities listed here work better when a group attacks the challenge in a coordinated way, so let us match you with others who have similar interests!
