Ann Edson is a principal with the Galliard Group, a strategic consulting company. She brings valuable experience working with family owned businesses in the areas of strategic planning, turn around, and mergers & acquisitions. Before joining the Galliard Group Ann was the Chairman of a family owned, 4th generation food processing company. Her expertise includes marketing and product development across a diverse international platform that includes Asia, South and Central America, and the United States. Under Ann's leadership the company transitioned from a family operated business to a team of professional managers. In four years the company went from a negative cash flow to a successful merger in excess of $177 million. In addition to serving on the board of Extra Hands Ann also serves on the board of the Riverstone International School.

James Allen Heywood is the founder of the ALS Therapy Development Institute, the world’s first non-profit biotechnology company. Faced with his 29 year old brother Stephen's diagnosis of ALS in 1998, Jamie applied his engineering and management skills to dramatically accelerate ALS research. ALS TDI broke new ground on many fronts and has become widely recognized as one of the most promising and innovative research organizations. Under Jamie’s leadership, ALS TDI implemented an industrialized therapeutic validation process and built one of the world’s leading ALS drug discovery programs. ALS TDI was the first organization to run an open research program, posting in real time the results of its studies for patients, doctors, and the research community. It also pioneered a new model for engaging patients and families in fund raising and actively involving them in ALS research. Over 100 families have joined with Jamie, Stephen and the Heywood’s to fund these innovative efforts. ALS TDI has raised tens of millions of dollars through its philanthropic, corporate, and government programs, culminating in the historic discovery partnership in 2007 with Augie’s Quest and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Jamie is the Chairman and co-founder of PatientsLikeMe the worlds leading patient information website with in depth information on treatments, symptoms, and real world information on managing life changing diseases. An MIT Engineer, he is an active investor and advisor to startups and companies and non profits working improve the way in which biomedical research is conducted. Jamie’s work has been profiled in the New Yorker, 60 Minutes, Pulitzer Prize winner Jonathan Wiener’s book, His Brothers Keeper, and in the Sundance award winning documentary So Much So Fast.

Connie Hoffman is a Consultant to Bryan Cave LLP, the St. Louis-based law firm, on technology and media. Prior to joining Bryan Cave, she was a founder and Managing Director of iSpringboard Advisors, a venture capital firm. In the previous ten years, she built and managed all of the technology-related businesses of Pulitzer Inc. as the President of Pulitzer Technologies and Vice-President of Pulitzer Inc. Connie was recently named one of the twenty-five most influential women in St. Louis by the St. Louis Business Journal.

Jeffrey Marks has been a partner of the firm Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. since 1992 and practices in their New York office. His practice is concentrated primarily on the tax and business aspects of mergers and acquisitions and in representing and advising both institutional and individual buyers and sellers in planning, structuring, negotiating and executing business and investment transactions. In the tax area, Jeff also has advised and represented both institutional and individual clients in designing and implementing tax planning programs and federal, state and local tax controversies. Jeff’s practice also has involved the organization and operation of a number of non-profit organizations.

Harry Orchard is the Vice President of Partner Development at Appistry, a St. Louis-based software company. Prior to joining Tsunami Research, he was Director of Business Development at Envive, a Silicon Valley software company.

Jack Orchard is the co-founder and Chairman of Extra Hands for ALS and the Jack Orchard ALS Foundation. He has been a founder and Managing Director of numerous firms including iSpringboard Advisors, a venture capital firm, Red Square Software, a software company, and United Financial Group, Russia’s largest independent investment bank. He serves on Advisory Boards of the ALS Center at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center and the NeuroRestoration Research Initiative affiliated with the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore. In 2005 Jack was named as one of nine finalists in Volvo of North America's Volvo For Life Award which recognizes ordinary people who go above and beyond the call of duty to help others. Jack received a BA with honors in economics from Harvard University in 1989 and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1995.

Sarah Orsay is the former chief executive officer of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF). The mission of MJFF is to find a cure for Parkinson's disease within the decade. As CEO, she led development of the Foundation's strategic plan and oversaw its execution in four primary areas: fundraising, research investment, communications and financial management. Before joining MJFF, Ms. Orsay was a managing director and head of Goldman, Sachs & Co.'s endowment and foundation coverage group in New York, a derivatives sales group, which she founded. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Ms. Orsay ran the pension, endowment and foundation coverage team for Morgan Stanley's Institutional Securities Division. She was promoted to managing director and partner in 2002. Ms. Orsay began her Wall Street career at Bankers Trust Company in 1991. From 1990-1991, she was an associate at Kramer Associates, a boutique financial services consulting firm run by Orin Kramer. Ms. Orsay holds a BA, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Certificate of Completion from the Pushkin Institute of Russian Language, in Moscow, Russia. She was enrolled as a PhD candidate in political science at Columbia University and the Harriman Institute for the Advanced Study of the Soviet Union from 1988 to 1990. Ms. Orsay lives with her husband and three children in Rumson, New Jersey.

Charles Ryan is the Chief Country Officer and Chief Executive Officer and one of the founders of United Financial Group (now Deutsche UFG). Charlie has overseen the development of UFG into Russia’s largest independent investment bank. His background combines top-level financial expertise with a special interest in Russia. From 1991 to 1994 Charlie was an Associate and Principal Banker at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, where he helped the city of St. Petersburg to develop a plan for privatizing industry and real estate as a member of the privatization and restructuring team. He also worked in the Russia and Poland country divisions of the EBRD, executing private equity investments. From 1989 to 1991 he was a Financial Analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston. Charlie received a BA with honors in Government, concentrating on Soviet foreign policy, from Harvard University in 1989.

Marc Spier is the Vice President of Supplier Network for Talaris Corporation, an e-commerce solutions provider for buyers and suppliers of employee business services. A 15-year veteran of business development, marketing and strategic problem solving experience, Marc held a number of positions in the small business division at Intuit prior to his current role. Prior to Intuit, he was a consultant with McKinsey & Company and a Vice President in the corporate finance arm of Dean Witter.

John Tumbarello, CPA, is the Tax Principal-In-Charge at Larson Allen Weishair & Co. LLP, a St. Louis-based accounting firm. Prior to that, he was a founder of Citerman & Tumbarello, a successful accounting firm.
